3 compelling ways to reduce your energy bills

These days more than ever before we need to be constantly aware of how we can reduce our energy bills. Gone are the days when we can rely on buying energy and other commodities at one set price. Today the buzz word is competition and with competitors there is a vast array of differing prices as companies compete for our business.

You will find prices can vastly change when you come to the end of your tariff and this can leave you paying large amounts of your hard earned cash for the same product.  So much cash that you could go on holiday with the amount you could save.

Check your tariffs

It’s well worth checking your tariff on a yearly basis to ensure that you are not paying too much, Martin Lewis is an expert on energy savings and his site enables you to sign up and every year you will get an email to remind you to check your tariff.

This year personally I saved £600 on my Gas and Electricity and £40 a month on changing my internet provider that’s a whopping £480 per year on my internet bill. That’s £1080 that I can certainly spend on better things like a well earned break.

Add a smart meter

By 2020 energy providers have to give you a smart meter by law and having one actually shows you on a digital display your energy usage so you can cut out excess usage.

Also they enable you to communicate directly to your energy supplier which means no more metre reading. This puts you back in control and enables you to ensure that you are top of your energy consumption which is a great way to reduce your bills further.

Get a new efficient boiler

Buying a New Energy Efficient Boiler can save you vast amounts of money on your energy bills as new A Rated Energy Efficient Boilers can ensure you are spending the minimum amount of money that is necessary. Most old boilers are G rated and a G rated boiler are only 60% energy efficient, so every £1 you spend with your energy supplier only 60p is spent on energy. Compare this with a new A Rated Boiler which is 90% efficient so for every £1 you spend 90p is spent on energy. As you can see by buying a new boiler you can save vast amounts of energy on your energy bills and nobody wants to waste money on energy.

Following these few simple tips will enable you to save money on your energy bills and then you can spend this on something lot more worthwhile. Go for it take action today and treat yourself to  a new boiler.
