Bleeding a radiator is when you let the air out that has become trapped inside
Trapped air is one of the causes reducing the efficiency of your radiator. Bleeding of your radiators can greatly enhance the efficiency of your system. Bleeding a radiator can provide you a warm home and a cheap electricity bill
Checking the radiator if it needs bleeding or not:
First you have to check that if the radiator needs bleeding or not and for this you must have to check if there is any air trapped in your radiator or not to check this place your hand at the bottom of the radiator and if you feel hot then place your hand at the top of radiator and it feel cold then there are good chances of trapped air in radiator .so it means that your radiator needs bleeding
Trapped air mean your Radiator don’t heat fully so you have to bleed your radiator to improve its efficiency and performance .below there is a method given step by step to bleed your radiator.
Tools needed to bleed the radiator:
All the things you must need to bleed a radiator are
1. A Radiator key Or A Bleed Key
(You can buy this from a local hardware store near you)
2. A Cloth Or A Rug
Steps to bleed the radiator:
Here are some simple and easy steps given by using which you can easily bleed a radiator without burning yourself or sopping your floor so just follow these easy steps given below to bleed your radiator
- Your radiator must have a valve on the upper side as shown below. All you have to do is to put your radiator key/bleed key in this valve.
- Also keep cloth/rug in other hand to catch drips of water or liquid coming out of the radiator and be attentive while doing this
Now turn your radiator key and allow air to come out When there is no more gas trapped in the radiator you bleeding liquid/water will start come out of this valve now turn your radiator key around and close the valve quickly(You have just bled your radiator)
