Vaillant ecoTEC Pro 30 combi boiler
The Vaillant ecoTEC Pro 30 combi boiler is ideal for the mid sized home of two or three bedrooms with one or two bathrooms. You will not need to have a cold water tank in the loft and you won’t need a hot water cylinder to operate it either.
If you have a smaller home with just one or two bedrooms you may wish to consider either the 24 or pro 28 versions. All three models operate on the mains gas or on LPG. Vaillant is a favourite with heating engineers, along with Worcester Bosch.

Vaillant have an excellent reputation in the central heating and hot water industry and heating engineers will often recommend them for their efficiency. As for disadvantages, there don’t have a lot on this front.
The Vaillant ecoTec 30 Pro is a boiler that is well respected by heating engineers. They are a quality boiler that is relatively easy to fix and to source parts for. The only downside that heating engineers noted was it’s price that was considered as to be prohibitive in some cases.
The heating output of this model is between 5.5 – 25kW which is average for this sized combi. With a central heating efficiency of 89.3%, it has a hot water flow rate of 12.3 litres per minute.
This particular Vaillant boiler measures 72x44x34cm which means that it will fit into some kitchen cupboards.
The control panel of the Vaillant ecoTEC 30 is open, as opposed to being hidden away behind a flap. This makes it easy to operate and there’s also plenty of room to fit an optional timer so that you can control when your heating comes on during the day.
A digital display shows fault codes and any other status information. It’s possible to control the temperature of the hot water and the central heating individually for optimal comfort and fuel efficiency.
