Ideal Logic+ C24 Combi Review 2026: Pricing, Pros & Cons

Ideal Logic+ C24 Combi Review 2026: Pricing, Pros & Cons

The Ideal Logic+ C24 is a compact 24kW gas combi made by Ideal Heating in Hull, and it’s a good fit for flats and smaller houses with one bathroom. It gives you heating and mains-pressure hot water from one wall-hung unit, with no tank in the loft.

The original Logic+ C24 has been replaced by the Logic+ Combi2 C24, which keeps the same outputs and adds a larger colour screen and a refreshed case. If you’ve already got a Logic+ C24 on the wall, this review explains what you have. If you’re pricing a new boiler, it’ll help you decide whether the current version is big enough for your home.

What Are The Ideal Logic+ C24’s Key Specs?

What Is The Ideal Logic+ C24?

It’s the smallest combi in the middle tier of Ideal’s Logic family. The basic Logic is the entry model, the Logic+ sits above it, and the Logic Max comes with an Ideal System Filter in the box.

All three share the same core build, the same heat exchanger platform and the same sizes: C24, C30 and C35.

The number in the name is the hot water output. On the C24 that’s 24.2kW, and the heating output is also 24.2kW. It’s a modulating boiler, so on a mild day it can turn itself down to 4.8kW instead of cycling on and off at full power.

Ideal built the Logic range with cupboard fitting in mind. At 700mm tall and under 400mm wide on the current version, it fits inside a standard kitchen wall unit. That’s why we see so many of them in new-build flats and terraced houses.

What Features Does The Logic+ C24 Have?

The C24 keeps things simple, with a built-in filling loop, a clear display and a compact case that fits in a kitchen cupboard.

  • Compact enough to sit inside a standard kitchen cupboard
  • Built-in filling loop, so topping up system pressure is easy
  • Front-access layout that keeps servicing straightforward
  • Digital display showing pressure, temperatures and fault codes
  • Works with Ideal’s own controls and most mainstream room thermostats
  • Built-in frost protection
  • Plenty of horizontal and vertical flue options
  • Compatible with an Ideal System Filter, which we recommend fitting on every install

How Efficient Is The Ideal Logic+ C24?

It’s A-rated for heating and hot water, with a seasonal heating efficiency of 94%. Almost all the gas it burns ends up as heat in your home rather than going up the flue.

If you’re replacing an old non-condensing boiler, you’ll usually notice the difference. Boilers from the 1990s often run well below 80% efficiency.

A combi also cuts out the heat lost from a hot water cylinder, because the C24 only heats water when you turn on a tap.

Set the flow temperature sensibly to get the best from it. We often find combis left on high settings that stop them condensing. Around 55°C to 60°C suits most radiator systems, and a programmable or smart thermostat helps further. Our smart thermostat options work well with the Logic range.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of The Logic+ C24?

It’s small and cheap to fit, but its hot water flow only suits one outlet at a time.

Pros

  • Small and light, so it fits in a kitchen cupboard and goes in quickly
  • A-rated for heating and hot water
  • Usually one of the more affordable branded combis to buy and fit
  • Built in the UK, with spare parts widely stocked by merchants
  • Simple controls that most homeowners and tenants pick up quickly

Cons

  • 9.9 litres per minute is fine for one shower but struggles with two outlets at once
  • Uses an aluminium alloy heat exchanger, not the stainless steel found in Ideal’s Vogue range
  • Too small for homes with two bathrooms or a high heat loss
  • The Logic Max costs a little more but includes a system filter as standard

What Size Home Does The Logic+ C24 Suit?

The C24 suits a flat or a one to two bedroom house with one bathroom. Its 9.9 litres per minute will run a decent mixer shower.

If someone opens the kitchen tap at the same time, though, both will drop in flow and temperature.

The heating side is rarely the limit. At 24.2kW, it’ll heat most small and medium homes with room to spare. In practice, your hot water use decides whether the C24 is right, not your radiators.

Got a bath that takes ages to fill, a power shower, or two people showering back to back every morning? Look at the C30 or C35 instead. Our guide on how to size a combi boiler goes into more detail.

Your incoming mains water matters too. A combi can only deliver what the cold main supplies, so we check flow and pressure on every survey.

How Much Does A Logic+ C24 Cost To Install In 2026?

Expect a guide price of £1,800 to £2,600 for a like-for-like swap, including VAT. Moving the boiler or converting from a system or regular boiler costs more.

Type of job Guide installed price
Like-for-like combi swap, same position £1,800 to £2,600
Combi swap with boiler relocated £2,400 to £3,300
Conversion from system or regular boiler to combi £2,900 to £4,200

These are typical figures only. Your final price depends on the flue route, the state of your pipework, whether the boiler is moving and which controls you choose.

A proper quote should include the boiler, flue, system filter, chemical flush or cleanse, controls, removal of the old boiler and registration with Gas Safe and building control. For the wider picture, see how much a new boiler costs.

If you’d rather spread the cost, our pay monthly boiler options are worth a look.

What Are The Best Alternatives To The Logic+ C24?

The closest alternative is the Logic Max C24, which has the same outputs with a system filter included.

  • Ideal Logic Max C24: the same output and flow rate, with an Ideal System Filter in the box. Often only a small step up in price.
  • Ideal Logic+ C30 or C35: the same compact size with more hot water, at 12.4 and 14.5 litres per minute. Read our Ideal Logic+ C35 review.
  • Ideal Vogue Max C26: Ideal’s premium combi, with a stainless steel heat exchanger and 10.6 litres per minute. See our Ideal Vogue C26 review.
  • Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000: a popular choice if you’d rather go with Worcester. Our Worcester Bosch vs Ideal comparison sets out the differences.

Is The Ideal Logic+ C24 Worth It?

Yes, for a small home with one bathroom. It’s compact and sensibly priced, and parts are easy to get hold of.

Its weak point is hot water flow, so the decision comes down to how your household uses water. For a full comparison across Ideal’s boilers, see which is the best Ideal boiler.

Choose It If

  • You live in a flat or a one to two bedroom house with one bathroom
  • Only one shower or tap is usually running at a time
  • The boiler needs to fit inside a kitchen cupboard
  • You want a reliable, well-supported combi without paying premium prices

Look Elsewhere If

  • You have two bathrooms, or an en suite that’s used at the same time as the main bathroom
  • You want a stainless steel heat exchanger
  • Your home has a high heat loss, such as a large older property with solid walls
  • You want the system filter included, in which case the Logic Max makes more sense

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Ideal Logic+ C24 Still Available?

No, not in its original form. It’s been replaced by the Logic+ Combi2 C24, which keeps the same 24.2kW output and 9.9 litre per minute flow rate, with a larger colour display and updated styling.

What’s The Difference Between The Ideal Logic+ And Logic Max?

The Logic Max comes with an Ideal System Filter included. Outputs and flow rates are the same across the C24, C30 and C35 sizes.

Can The Logic+ C24 Run Two Showers At Once?

Not comfortably. At 9.9 litres per minute, it suits one outlet at a time. Homes with two bathrooms should look at a larger combi or a system boiler with a cylinder.

Can The Logic+ C24 Run On LPG?

Yes, an LPG conversion is available for the C24. If you’re off the gas grid, see our page on LPG and oil boilers.

How Often Should A Logic+ C24 Be Serviced?

Once a year, by a Gas Safe registered engineer. An annual service keeps the boiler safe and efficient, and our Clever Care servicing plans make it easy to stay on top of.
