The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 2000 is Worcester’s entry-level gas combi, made in 25kW and 30kW sizes for small to medium homes with one bathroom. It’s quiet and A-rated, and it costs less than Worcester’s mid-range and premium boilers.
Unlike many older Worcester models, the Greenstar 2000 is still on sale. Worcester updated it in late 2023 with a higher heating output, better efficiency and longer flue options. This review covers the current version, how it compares with the rest of the Worcester range, and what it costs to fit.
What Are The Worcester Greenstar 2000’s Key Specs?
Both sizes give 24kW of heating, with 10 l/min (25kW) or 12 l/min (30kW) of hot water at a 35°C rise. It’s a current model.

What Is The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 2000?
It’s the starting point of Worcester’s gas combi range, aimed at flats, terraced houses and smaller semis with one bathroom. It sits below the Greenstar 4000 and the larger Greenstar 8000+ models.
It replaced the earlier Worcester 2000, which is no longer available. The current Greenstar 2000 arrived in its latest form in October 2023.
That update made real changes. Worcester raised the heating output to 24kW, lifted seasonal efficiency to 94%, added a quieter hydraulic assembly and extended the maximum flue length to 12 metres. Our engineers also get better access to parts and simpler pipe connections.
Both sizes share the same heating output. The 25kW and 30kW labels refer to hot water power, so you’re choosing on hot water, not on how many radiators you have.
What Features Does The Greenstar 2000 Have?
Its main features are very quiet running, a compact casing and 1:10 modulation down to 3kW.
- Very quiet: Worcester describes it as its quietest combi, with a sound level of 47 dB(A) and Quiet Mark accreditation.
- Compact casing: 724mm high, 400mm wide and only 300mm deep, so it fits inside a standard kitchen cupboard.
- Wide modulation: a 1:10 ratio lets heating output drop to 3kW, which suits small, well-insulated homes.
- QuickTap: a water-saving feature that gets hot water to the tap with less waste.
- Long flue runs: up to 12 metres horizontally or vertically, giving more freedom over where the boiler goes.
- Smart controls ready: plug-in RF wireless controls and compatibility with Worcester’s EasyControl thermostat.
How Efficient Is The Greenstar 2000?
It’s A-rated, with an ErP seasonal space heating efficiency of 94%. That’s a strong figure for an entry-level boiler and in line with Worcester’s pricier models.
The 1:10 modulation helps too. Plenty of small homes only need a few kilowatts of heat for much of the year.
A boiler that can turn down to 3kW ticks over steadily at low output instead of firing up and shutting off again and again. That’s better for efficiency and for wear on the parts.
If your old boiler is a non-condensing model, switching to a Greenstar 2000 should cut your gas use noticeably. To get the most from it, pair it with a good thermostat. Our smart thermostats page covers the options, and our Hive vs Nest comparison looks at two of the most popular.
What Are The Pros And Cons Of The Greenstar 2000?
The pros are a lower price, 94% efficiency and very quiet running. The main con is limited hot water, so it only really suits one bathroom.
Pros
- A lower-cost way to get a Worcester Bosch boiler
- 94% seasonal efficiency, A-rated
- Exceptionally quiet in use
- Small enough for a kitchen cupboard
- Modulates down to 3kW for small homes
- Natural gas and LPG versions available
Cons
- Hot water flow tops out at 12 l/min, so it suits one bathroom only
- 24kW heating output limits it in larger homes
- Fewer premium features than the Greenstar 4000 or 8000+
- Not a good fit where an en-suite gets regular use alongside the main bathroom
What Size Home Does The Greenstar 2000 Suit?
It suits small to medium homes with one bathroom, such as flats, one to three-bedroom terraces and smaller semis.
The 25kW model gives around 10 litres per minute at a 35°C rise. That’s enough for one shower at a time.
The 30kW model raises that to around 12 litres per minute, giving a stronger shower and a little more headroom if someone opens a tap elsewhere. For most households we’d say the 30kW is the safer choice, unless water pressure is low or the home is very small.
If you have two bathrooms, or you’re planning an extension, look at a larger combi instead. Our guide on how to size a combi boiler explains how to choose.
How Much Does It Cost To Install A Greenstar 2000 In 2026?
A straight combi swap to a Greenstar 2000 typically costs £1,900 to £2,800 fitted, making it one of the more affordable ways to get a new Worcester.
These are guide ranges only. Prices vary with your location, flue position, any pipework changes and the condition of your current system.
| Type Of Job | Typical Installed Price Range (Guide Only) |
| Combi to combi swap, Greenstar 2000 25kW | £1,900 to £2,600 |

- Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000+ Life and Style: high-output combis for larger homes with two bathrooms. Read our Greenstar 8000 Life and Style review.
- Other brands: Baxi, Ideal and Vaillant all make entry-level combis in the same size bracket. Our Baxi vs Worcester Bosch and Worcester Bosch vs Ideal comparisons set out the differences.

Is The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 2000 Worth It?
Yes, for a smaller home with one bathroom, the Greenstar 2000 is good value.
You get Worcester build quality, 94% efficiency and Worcester’s quietest combi at an entry-level price. It isn’t built for big hot water demands, though. Larger households should step up to the Greenstar 4000 or 8000+.
